Chipmunk and Daisy Dares You performing live at the Roundhouse, London

These photographs of Daisy Dares You (below) and Chipmunk (below) were taken on Tuesday night at the iTunes festival in Camden. It was one of the final few iTunes festival shows to be held at the Roundhouse throughout July. To view a slideshow from the night of each artist click on their individual image.

Daisy Dares You (Daisy May Keeley Coburn) has only released one single titled ‘Number One Enemy’ but has already attracted a lot of media attention being been profiled by The Times, the BBC, and The Guardian as a young artist to watch for in 2010. Her debut album ‘Rush’ is scheduled for release in August.

Chipmunk (Jahmaal Noel Fyffe) won the Best UK Newcomer at the MOBO Awards 2008. He also won Best Hip-Hop Act at the MOBO Awards 2009, overcoming US stars such as Jay-Z, Kanye West and Eminem.

The Futureheads & Frank Turner performing live at the Roundhouse, London

The day after Latitude festival (Monday 19th July) I headed straight for the iTunes festival at the Roundhouse in Camden to catch The Futureheads and Frank Turner’s co-headline show. To say I was tired after working the weekend at a festival was an understatement but it was a trip worth making as both bands performed excellent sets.

Sunday at Latitude festival, Suffolk

These shots of Tom Jones (above) and Jonsi of Sigur Ros (below) were taken on the last day of the Latitude festival. It was great to see Jonsi on a smaller stage as he performed with his band a few years prior to this perfromance.

Other artsist that I photographed on the day included Rox, Jamie Lidell, The Big Pink, Kristin Hersh, Yeasayer, Charlotte Gainsbourg, The Coral, Grizzly Bear and Vampire Weekend. To view a slideshow of images from the day click on either of the two images.

Saturday at Latitude festival, Suffolk

Saturday at Latitude saw Belle and Sebastian’s first perfromance in four years. Their headline set brought the day to a close on the Oblisk Arena. Other artists I photographed on Saturday included Frank Turner (below), Frightened Rabbit, Joshua Radin, Paul Heaton, John Grant, The Maccabees, Noah And The Whale and Crystal Castles. The Latitude Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in Henham Park, Southwold. It was first held in July 2006. Latitude is said to be more similar to continental European festivals; as well as a comprehensive bill of musicians, bands and artists across four stages – The Obelisk Arena, The Uncut Arena, The Sunrise Arena, and the Huw Stephens curated Lake Stage, the festival comprises elements of theatre, art, comedy, cabaret, poetry, politics, dance and literature.

Tom Jones perfroming at Latitude festival, Suffolk

This photograph of Tom Jones was taken at a special midnight performance in the woods area of Latitude festival, Suffolk on Thursday night. It was Tom’s first performance at the festival and he played his new album ‘Praise & Blame’. Later in the weekend he would perform the album for a second time at an unannounced set on Sunday at midday.

The album is produced by Ethan Johns (who has previously worked with Kings Of Leon, Rufus Wainwright and Laura Marling) and includes covers of songs by such artists as Bob Dylan, John Lee Hooker and Billy Joe Shaver and features Booker T.

Faithless and Chew Lips performing live at the Roundhouse, London

The last few days have been very busy to say the least!  I have just come back from Latitude festival and had to photograph two iTunes festivals shows (Faithless/Cherw Lips and Frank Turner/Futureheads) at the Roundhouse sandwiched either side. The iTunes shows at the Roundhouse are always great fun to shoot as the lighting it lit for TV and the crowd is always up for it.

Click on either the images of Faithless or Chew Lips to launch flash slideshows of either band.

The Xcerts performing live at the Underworld, London

Last Thursday I went to the Underworld for two consecutive nights. Both shows were sold out The Get Up Kids shows. The first night Welsh quartet Straight Lines supported and on the second The Xcerts (above) supported. Please click on the image above to launch a slideshow from the second night.

The Duckworth Lewis Method performing live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London

The shots of The Duckworth Lewis Method (above) and Leisure Society (below) were taken earlier tonight at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the Richard Thompson’s Meltdown Festival. The rules for taking photos at the show were rather strange with photographers having to leave the venue after the first three songs of the support act only to return 30 minutes later to take pictures of The Duckworth Lewis Method! Click on the images to see more shots from the night.

The Duckworth Lewis Method were formed by Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy and Thomas Walsh of Pugwash. The Duckworth Lewis Method is also the title of the group’s debut album, which is a concept album about cricket. Hannon and Walsh have described their album as “a kaleidoscopic musical adventure through the beautiful and rather silly world of cricket.”
