This shot of Florence And The Machine was taken at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London earlier tonight (27/05/2009). Florence And The Machine (aka Florence Welch) was recently named BRIT Awards 2009 Critics’ Choice and this show was the first of two sold out nights at the venue. This shot of the rather amazing Little Comets was taken at the bands show at the Ocean Rooms, Brighton as part of the Great Escape festival on Saturday (16/05/2009). This evening I was at the Gibson studios shooting Yves Klein Blue (above) and The John Steel Singers who were playing as part of the Trade Queensland music showcase. You will be able to see more images from both bands in the gallery soon.
Another week, another Frank Turner gig! Again, I was experimenting with the Canon 50D’s live view mode. The show at a new venue in London called The Flower Pot was rammed so I stuck to a corner of the room with the intention of shooting a single frame which captured Frank’s interaction with the audience. Typically as the final song (‘The Ballad Of Me And My Friends’) of the evening began and the best crowd reaction of the night ensued prompting a stage invasion, the battery on the camera died! Luckily I managed to salvage one of the last shots I took. View the image large on black.
